MEET THE STUDENT
I think my background makes me unique. You don’t get a lot of transfer students in athletics who are also into entrepreneurship. I study political economy because it made me a well rounded focus in my studies as well as allowed me the freedom to explore entrepreneurship and connect to those people within the group.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP GOALS
My short term entrepreneurship goal is creating a product of value. I’m in the niche of supply chain. I want to build a startup that creates novel value for people in supply chain. A lot of things aren’t necessarily geared towards that. In the long term, I want to raise my own fund and do a lot of impact investing into kids that look like me and don’t have the same opportunities. I got lucky to work to be where I’m at. I’d love to share that knowledge, wisdom, and, hopefully, finances with people like me.
LOOKING FOR HELP WITH
The main thing I’m looking for is community and investment. In terms of community, I’d love to meet more people like me. As a Black male going to UC Berkeley, I can probably count the number of us on one hand. That is quite the exaggeration, but we’re here and I’d love to connect more in terms of entrepreneurship because I feel like it hasn’t been a field that at Berkeley a lot of Black men really got the chance to explore or it’s not necessarily been fostered. I plan on starting something and I have a lot of backing being able to kick it into gear and start making things happen.
